1. Inspect and test drive it to find anything that need fixing.
  2. Repair blemishes, etc.
  3. Check fluid levels, tire pressure, etc.
  4. Clean thoroughly. Use products to make it shine inside and out. Don’t forget the wheels and the engine compartment!
  5. Take pictures with a nice background of the driver side, passenger side, front, back, the four diagonals, side view of the back seat, side view of the front seats, a back view of the dashboard, and the trunk.
  6. Determine tire condition, battery life, and oil & filter change.
  7. Anticipate questions such as: ownership and accident history, engine or transmission repairs, maintenance schedule, and financing options.
  8. Post on Craigslist with information: price, year, model, condition, and pictures. Include extra features in the vehicle.
  9. Put ‘For Sale’ sign with phone number in window of vehicle.
  10. Keep all paperwork handy for the sale of the vehicle.
  11. Print a sales receipt for you and the buyer to sign.
  12. Remove your license tag before the buyer drives off with the vehicle.
  13. In Arkansas, report sale and release of liability to Finance and Administration Office.
